October 2015 Tracks

Greetings From the President

Greetings, everybody!  It’s the start of our next season and  I have to start out by saying we are a little under staffed this year but we’re doing the best we can to keep the fun going.  We’ve got some off season events coming up in the near future and we hope to see everyone out.  For those of you interested in saving a few bucks this winter Night Club Card registration is in full swing!  We’re also in the midst of putting together some trips but since we’re down a trip coordinator we’re going to change some things up a bit, more on that to follow. How about a 3 day weekend in Vermont to experience The Beast that makes molehills out of other mountains?!

That’s right; Chesapeake Ski and Board Club will be making another annual trip to Killington Resort. No matter the size this trip never disappoints. From previous hotel room drinking games, the duplex house we shared with a bunch of college kids, the Chalet with an Indoor Hot Tub, and our traditional Great Eastern Races.  If you went on these trips you’ll remember all of those moments and be excited to make some new ones. If you haven’t experienced this trip, then you’re in luck because now is your chance to join in the fun while Chesapeake Ski and Board Club once again takes on The Beast of the East!

Note – the trip cost is subject to change and will be finalized once we get signups.  But, we tend to be pretty good with it so changes will be minimal.

Shoot us a quick email (chesapeakeskiandboard@gmail.com) for more information or to sign up!

Trip Details…

Getting There

The group will meet at a central destination on Thursday February 25th, 2016.  Once we finalize a head count we will be able to plan the logistics about getting us there. Typically we will be renting two 7/8 passenger SUVs. However, if someone on the trip has a SUV of their own they would like to volunteer this will cut some of the cost, and we’ll talk kick backs! We also are looking into a 15 passenger van, but we’re uncertain about that in the weather. On Sunday, per usual, we will return home after half a day on the slopes.

The Lodging

We wanted to kick this trip up a notch and what better way than to look into Ski In/Ski Out lodging. A beautiful chalet overlooking the Great Eastern Trail is just what we had in mind.  The Chalet sleeps 12 comfortably and includes a hot tub w/ jets and contoured seating, 50” television with Direct TV, stone fireplace, high speed internet, grill, and a deck with wonderful mountain views. So whether you want to come home from a wonderful day on the slopes and enjoy a barbeque on the grill, relax in the hot tub, or work from the mountain side we’ve got you covered! We will have a washer/dryer, dish washer, and fully equipped kitchen.

Note – the trip lodging/cost is subject to change and will be finalized once we get signups. Please submit your $200 deposit via paypal to chesapeakeskiandboard@gmail.com as soon as possible so we can secure this house!

As with most of our trips, we’ll cook a group breakfast and dinner as part of your trip cost where we’ll make for the day and share wild stories for our experiences on & off the mountain.  You are welcome to skip any meals, but that’s on your dime.  You will be on your own for lunch, since it’s anybody’s guess where you’ll be. I know where I’ll be… THE WAFFLE CABIN!  (waffles covered in chocolate. Yes, they do exist!)
