Chesapeake Ski and Board Club Bylaws


These bylaws were ratified on July 23, 2009.


The mission of the Chesapeake Ski and Board Club is to provide accessible skiing and snowboarding to its members and to pass the knowledge and experience of seasoned members on to those new to the sport.

Article I: Name

The name of this organization is the Chesapeake Ski and Board Club (CSBC), hereinafter referred to as “the Club”.

Article II: Purpose

The purpose of the Club is to promote ski and board sports (primarily snow skiing and snowboarding), social activities, and outdoor activities conducive to the health and welfare of its members. A primary focus of the club is teaching beginners and passing on the knowledge and experience it’s more seasoned members.

Article III: Principal Regions

The principal region of the Club will be located in Baltimore, Maryland. The Club may establish such other regions or centers, as the Board of Directors may determine.

Article IV: General Provisions

Section 4.01 – Fiscal Year

The fiscal year of the club is July 1 through June 30th.

Section 4.02 – Membership Year

The membership year of the club is July 1 through June 30th.

Section 4.03 – Rules of Order

The most recent edition of “Robert’s Rules of Order,” will be recognized as the authority governing all meetings of the Club when not in conflict with these Bylaws or special rules of this organization.

Article V: Membership

Section 5.01 – Classification of Members

The members of this Club consists of the following classes:

  1. Regular Members
  2. Lifetime Members
  3. Honorary Members

Section 5.02 – Regular Members

A regular Membership may be conferred upon any person who has completed a
membership application and paid the dues (if any) established by the Board of Directors. Regular Members will be entitled to participate in all activities of the Club, including voting and holding office.

Section 5.03 – Membership Rights

All Members will have the right to vote or hold office in the Club.
